The Facility Agricultural Science and Engineering of Yunnan Agricultural University started enrollment in 2004, and it was approved as a master's degree in facility cultivation and environment in 2010. Based on the environmental and resource advantages of developing facility agriculture in Yunnan Province, the major actively carries out cooperative research on facility crop cultivation, greenhouse structure design and environmental monitoring, so as to promote the upgrading of modern agriculture with plateau characteristics in Yunnan Province. There are 10 full-time teachers, including 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 1 master tutor, and  1 post expert of vegetable Industry and Technological System in Yunnan Province.

This major mainly cultivates senior compound technical talents who master the basic theory, basic knowledge and practical skills of agricultural facility design and construction, facility environmental regulation and management, facility production management, and can engage in facility engineering design and construction, facility agricultural production, operation and management, teaching and scientific research, and technology promotion and development related to facility agriculture.

This major integrates multi-disciplinary content such as biology, engineering, environment, and information technology, and integrates multi-disciplinary teachers including resources and environment, mechanical and electrical engineering, water conservancy. At the same time, it has carried out extensive school-enterprise cooperation, developed the cooperation model of going out and bringing in, expanded off-campus training bases in many ways, and hired senior engineering and technical personnel to teach practical courses, which provides a guarantee for the multi-disciplinary integration of this major.
